Healthy “Snickers” Bars (That My Whole Family Is Obsessed With)
If you’ve been following me for a while you know that I'm on a constant journey of health and wellness.
And being in my 30s has only deepened my commitment to being intentional about what I put into my body — but I still love sum’ sweet! ;)
I stumbled across this healthy twist on a Snickers bar and I knew I had to share it.
Whole ingredients, rich dark chocolate, and that perfect salty-sweet combo? My husband and the kiddos loved it!
Here's everything you'll need to make them.
Ingredients
2 dark chocolate bars (preferably 70% cocoa or higher)
1 cup peanut butter
1 package of dates
Peanuts, or your nut of choice
A pinch of sea salt (optional)
Directions
Start by lining a baking sheet with parchment paper and setting it aside.
Pit your dates and lay them flat on the parchment. Tip: you can grab pre-pitted dates to save yourself some time — here’s a popular brand!
Melt your peanut butter and pour it generously over the dates.
Sprinkle a layer of peanuts (or your chosen nut) right on top.
Using a double boiler, melt your chocolate until smooth and silky, then drizzle or pour it over everything.
Transfer the baking sheet to the freezer and let the chocolate set for about 30 minutes.
Let them sit for a few minutes, and them cut up into bars!
Storage: Keep these in an airtight container in the fridge or freezer for up to two weeks. Though honestly? They never last that long in our house.
Enjoy, friends! 🍫
